  • Book Series: The Dignity of Dependence

Immaculate Heart of Mary 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH +3 more

4-week series on The Dignity of Dependence by Leah Libresco Sargeant. Starting the week of October 4th at multiple locations.  The Dignity of Dependence aims to liberate women and men from the corrosive and false ideal that the human person is strongest alone. Leah Libresco Sargeant argues that to thrive, human beings need to exist in webs of mutual dependence, not in isolating, radical autonomy. Women's equal dignity doesn't require women to deny biological reality or attempt to be interchangeable with men. Sargeant advocates for building a culture that accepts and celebrates women as they are; rather than demanding that women keep their relationships and bodies in check. The fight for women's dignity is a fight for full, human dignity - a dignity that isn't threatened by dependence. It is our need for each other that makes us human. Multiple Locations: Center for Pastoral Leadership, Wickliffe - Monday nights led by Dr. Matt Jordan St. Anthony of Padua, Parma - Wednesday nights led by Alex Scutton St. John Neumann in Strongsville on Wednesday nights led by Maria Wancata Immaculate Heart of Mary in Cuyahoga Falls on Wednesday mornings and nights led by Jen Ricard $45/ticket Register Here   The series […]
