“And Mary said, ‘Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.’” (LK 1:38) A mother-daughter retreat designed specifically for adult and teen women in the spirit of Mary's fiat. Spend the day strengthening the relationships with the special women in your life through focused reflections and inspiring conversation on the feminine mind, body and spirit. This year’s theme is “Behold Friendship.” Lunch, snacks and drinks provided. The retreat will close with the Sunday vigil Mass at 4pm celebrated by Fr. Damian Ference. Mass is open to the public. All teens must be accompanied by an adult. She has been part of the Institute since 2008, serving as Certification Course Manager, Managing Director, and Director of Programs. Jen has her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in theology and Parish Ministry from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. Jen worked in religious education and adult faith formation for 15 years before joining the TOBI staff, teaching Theology of the Body throughout the country. She completed the Spiritual Direction Certificate Program with Divine Mercy University and she now serves as a spiritual director. She is the co-author of the book, Consecration to Jesus through Saint Joseph: An Integrated Look at the Holy Family, and a contributor to the books, Undone: Freeing the Feminine Heart from the Knots of Fear and Shame, and God is Beauty: A Retreat on the Gospel and Art. Jen is a Consecrated Virgin and credits Theology of the Body as integral to discerning and forming her in her vocation. She lives in Orlando, Florida.
